I have been working hard to make a standalone release of Wing Commander 1 Remake.  I am intending to include the fourth episode in there as well.  A few bugs have to be nailed out before I can continue to work on episode four.

With that said, thank you.

Standalone releases are neato. I've been working on my own.

To tell you the truth I've never played Remake, trying to figure out what I need to download was a bit annoying, and then the latest Flight Commander didn't work it with. rolleyes Anyway, look forward to seeing it.

The latest Flight Commander didn't work it with.

You mean the "Third edition" release did not work with Flight commander 1.4?   cry

I thought I tested it before I released it...  embarassed

And I thought it would work if you unzipped it over an existing FC 1.4 install.

I tried your remake...and I think it's very stylistic--but it needs a little bit of maths and calculation to back engineer exactly how many shots it takes to take down a hornet shield and how long one takes to recharge, etc...
WC1 had a very delicate balance with how fast shields recharge and how little damage they took ,etc...
you could literally take a dralthi out with 7 well timed shots... or 1.4 missiles wink not just 1...

details like that would be an excellent place to focus before adding more features...

Ok, I increased the energy weapon strength by 5 and decreased the missile strength by 100.  That should be closer to the original game.
